(OR) Strap On A Pair, Night of the Living Ales Is Coming, 10/31

Poster courtesy of Ezra Johnson-Greenough Portland, OR – It’s Friday and if you are like any zombie to routine, then you no doubt have somewhere to go or something to pull out of the fridge, to celebrate another weekend of freedom. This week is nothing special, presuming you have nothing planned (Anniversary, Birthday, Wedding, etc.), but the coming weekend (10/30 & 10/31), now that’s something fun!

Halloween is almost on us. Despite what the many decorated yards and closeout sections of your closest megachain might show you, it’s not quite here.

As children we all looked forward to the one night when we dressed up, ran from door to door, and for a brief moment, threatened to vandalize a persons house, in lieu of small piece of glucose, wrapped in wax paper. Trick or treat, give me candy, whatever you call it, it’s the same thing, Halloween.

But, for the big kids too old to wander the streets in search of that next Baby Ruth mini, or Reese’s Peanut Butter, hook up, the reality is sad. But it doesn’t have to be all ‘just another Saturday / Sunday night in October’, with this solution, pub crawl.

In collaboration with Lisa “Beer Goddess” Morrison, breweries: Coalition, Migration, and alehouses: Spints and Beulahland, you are invited to Night of the Living Ales. Starting on the 31st and along S.E. 28th and traveling along Gilsan to Ankeny, you are invited to part with $5 dollars of hard earned money as you play dress up for one night, while sucking down a cold Upright, Double Mountain, Ninkasi, or Coalition Peanut Butter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout.

Still not enough incentive? Then read this snippet from the event organizer Ezra Johnson-Greenough.

Night of the Living Ales offers a halloween event for adults who want to have a good time without the hoopla of various gigantic parties/shows in PDX. NotLA also has something for the discerning beer geeks of Beervana with special rare and even exclusive beers from some of Oregon's best breweries like Upright Brewing, Double Mountain Brewing and Ninkasi Brewing plus a beer made by event organizers specifically for the crawl that will likely only be on tap Halloween, a 10 gallon batch of Peanut Butter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout!

Beer O' Clock host Lisa Morrison, the Beer Goddess, will be leading the 28th Street Pub Crawl -- a guided drinking tour through some of the best watering holes along 28th street beginning with Migration Brewing, then heading to Spints Alehouse, Beulahland and Coalition Brewing. At each stop a different themed costume contest will be held to give everyone a chance to win swag from various breweries and pubs as well as other giveaways. Each location will offer a Happy Hour drink menu with exclusive beers and/or cocktails to members of the crawl with wristband purchase for $5 available at any of the participating bars right now or on the day of the crawl, or for $5.50 via paypal on the website.
