image Pacific Northwest – As some of you might have heard, a certain brewery from the island state of Hawaii, has been slowly immigrating into the West Coast. First arriving on the mainland in California (around August of 2009), before moving North to Oregon (late January 2010), this brewery in the can has been attracting alot of attention. Fast forward to a few months ago and rumors began surfacing of this same beer, arriving in Washington, only to be dismissed as a fluke. However, founder Garret Marrero was not deaf to people’s request for this little taste of the islands.

Today, we can finally confirm what we have known for a few months (at least in Washington and soon Idaho) that Maui Brewing Co. has arrived!

Maui Brewing Co. (MBC) has signed a distribution agreement with Click Wholesale Distributing in Kent, WA to service most of Washington State and their sister company, Click Distributing East, to cover the eastern part of Washington and limited areas of Idaho.

"We have received many requests from the Pacific Northwest region for real Hawaiian beers from the moment we began canning. Consumers definitely know what they want. At Maui Brewing Co., by practicing what we preach and continuing to work hard at keeping our product wholly produced and packaged on Maui - sometimes against all odds - we are giving consumers exactly what they are asking for - a genuinely Hawaiian-made world class beer. Earlier this year we added Oregon to our 'ohana' and sales have been going well. Now we are extremely proud to be able to bring MBC products to our friends in the state of Washington," states Garrett Marrero of MBC. "Many Washington residents have visited our brewpub and tasting room and I would like to say 'Mahalo!' to these folks and all our fans for their excitement about our beers and for their patience!" adds Garrett.

Click will receive their first shipment of MBC product this week. Rick Steckler, President & COO of Click Wholesale Distributing, shared his thoughts on distributing MBC products in Washington State: "As evidenced by being named 2008 National Craft Beer Distributor of the year, Click Wholesale Distributing represents a collection of many of the greatest beer brands from all over the world. We are very excited to have Maui Brewing Co. join this portfolio of brands and believe they are a great fit on all levels of quality, innovation, packaging and passion for spreading the gospel of 'better beer for all consumers'. Seattle has one of the highest craft beer market shares in the US and the Washington market has been one of the most vocal in crying out for these beers to be made available. We are looking forward to filling this demand and over the next weeks and months will get the Maui Brewing Co. beers out to regional bars, restaurants, chain grocery stores and beer outlets of all types." –source, Maui Brewing Co.

About Maui Brewing

Maui Brewing Co. is the only brewer and canner of craft beer in Hawaii as 100% of the beers are brewed and canned on Maui.  Additionally, Maui Brewing Co. microbrews are officially Hawaii's #1 craft beer. With a strong commitment to the local economy, and deep concern for the environment, MBC microbrews are packaged with the most eco-friendly materials. Although cans and bottles are both recyclable, bottles still break and may pose a risk at beaches.  The cans are manufactured on Oahu and designed by local Maui artists; they have the added bonus of protecting the beer in the best possible manner, protecting the product from both light and oxygen damage which can seriously compromise the taste. Plastic rings are dangerous to marine life and therefore, a unique, recyclable plastic carrying device is used to hold the products.  The spent grain from beer production is donated to local ranchers for cattle feed and composting; and any cans damaged in production are donated to the Maui Humane Society. MBC purchased equipment from Maui Land & Pineapple, preserving a piece of Hawaii's canning history.

Founder Garrett Marrero and his wife, Melanie, run a 7-barrel brewpub at the Kahana location as well as the 25-barrel full production brewery and canning facility in Lahaina.  Maui Brewing Co. is a truly local beer as 100% of their products are made in Hawaii as opposed to other "Hawaiian" beers.
