“Pyramid is thrilled to be a sponsor of Seattle Beer Week,” said Mike Brown, Commissioner of Inspiration and Aspiration for Pyramid Breweries. “Pyramid was born and has grown up in Washington, proudly pouring for Seattle since 1984. I encourage Seattleites to engage with, explore, and celebrate beer and the multitude of events that this week is offering. Life is what you pour into it.”
Pyramid encourages Seattle Beer Week enthusiasts to visit the Alehouse throughout the week to enter for a chance to win their very own kegerator. Entries will be accepted from May 14 – May 23, and the winner will be announced the following week. Pyramid is also one of ten participating venues for the Seattle Beer Week Coaster Art Contest, May 13 – May 21, and asks the creatively-inclined to get crafty and design a coaster in one of five categories, including ‘Best Hop’ and ‘Seattle is to me…’ Winners will be awarded prizes at the Seattle Beer Week closing ceremonies.
Starting on the 14th (of May) Pyramid Alehouse invites those of you to forgo other events or start at their establishment with the Ignite the Night side by side taste off. Featured at the brewery and alehouse, you will be subjected to a taste comparison hosted by Head Brewer Tom Bleigh. The primary focus will be around what makes an Imperial beer, with Tom guiding you through comparisons with Haywire Hefeweizen (paired with Barbed Wire Imperial Hefeweizen) and Thunderhead IPA (paired with Outburst Imperial IPA.
Foodies who are in attendance during this event will be treated to various beer-inspired and infused meals, like their upcoming Hopcorn (fresh-popped popcorn tossed in brewer’s yeast, hops, and hop infused oil) or Fire Roasted Beef Kabobs.
On May 15th, starting at 2:00 Tom will take you on a tour of the brewery’s favorite watering holes in Seattle, all from the comfort of a bus seat. Included besides beer (of course) will be appetizers at the Alehouse, a complimentary t-shirt, and a few surprises. Tickets unfortunately need to be purchased ahead of time and as always space is limited. Please contact the host (firstname.lastname@example.org) or phone the brewery below.
May 17th the Alehouse will be hosting an beer-infused Ice Cream Social with ice cream courtesy of Snoqualmie Gourmet.
May 18th, from 5 PM and until the kitchen closes, swing into the Alehouse for more beer inspired (and infused) deep fried edibles featuring Hop-fried Chicken, Haywire Bayou Shrimp and Grits, and chipotle cornbread, collard greens, and so much more.
Finally on May 20th, from 5:00 PM to close, the brewery and Alehouse will be helping you cool off in the Spring time heat with Snow Cap Winter Ale, coming back for one day only. Featured on draft will be years 2008, 2009, and Super Snow Cap, all in a vertical presentation.
