Hood River, OR – Word has traveled from Charlie Devereux (the face of Double Mountain Brewery) that after their initial release at Fire on the Mountain pub (May 13th), those in Washington should expect to see this newly released beer soon.
Beginning on Tuesday (the 18th) during Seattle Beer Week (but not an official event), you are invited to swing into The Porterhouse in West Seattle and welcome Charlie and Molten Lava to Washington state.
Featured during that night (May 18th) besides the anticipated Imperial IPA, will no doubt be favorites like IRA, Hop Lava, and who knows maybe something special (Charlie isn’t sharing).
Beer Geek Information
Molten is the bigger, meaner older brother of Hop Lava, brewed with same ingredients (pilsner malt, crystal malt, Cascade and Centennial hops) -- but lots more of them. Big and yet somehow balanced, in the Double Mountain style. Substantially dry-hopped for superior aroma. 8% ABV, 90+ BU. –source, Double Mountain Brewery

Matt Swihart and Charlie Devereux founded Double Mountain in 2007 with a clear mission: make great beer for craft beer fans. Ours is a “brewers' brewery”, with an uncompromising focus on beer quality.
From the beginning, our goal was to make beers that we liked to drink. All of our beers are served up unfiltered and long-aged, to deliver maximum flavor and character. The beers can be very complex and assertive, but with the ultimate goal of proper balance. We aim to satisfy both the hardcore aficionados and the more casual craft beer fan, all in the same glass.
