Bellingham, WA – Hard to believe, with February gone, many may have forgotten about those in Haiti after the tragic earthquake. During that same month, Boundary Bay Brewery and Bistro started a fund raiser on Valentine’s Day, that lasted for a week. With a catchy name, Boundary Bay was able to raise over two-thousand dollars for their Have A Heart 4 Haiti campaign, which benefited the American Red Cross.
Boundary Bay Brewery provided opportunities throughout the week for the Bellingham community to help support the Haiti relief efforts. On Valentines Day, the servers donated a portion of their tips and the brewery matched the tips for a total of $1,386. Through the week a Heart 4 Haiti dessert was available and 100% of the proceeds were donated with Boundary Bay Brewery again matching the funds for a total of $290. $147 was generated from the weekly Happy Hours where $1 was donated for every Heart 4 Haiti beer purchased and $296 was raised at the Friday night Late Show with PanPan and Talkdemonic.
At the end of the week, Boundary Bay Brewery was proud to donate $2,119 to the American Red Cross on behalf of the brewery and it's devoted, generous customers. "Our sense of community is strong at local level here in Bellingham," said Amy Jones, Public Relations Specialist at Boundary Bay Brewery. "We wanted to extend that sense of community to a global level. This was a unique opportunity to bring together our customers and provide ways for them to share whatever they could with the people of Haiti." –source, Boundary Bay Brewery
