(WA) Wandering the Hop Fields for October 28th ‘09

Membership has its privileges

I found this event notification listed within their Newsletter. Located in Federal Way, 99 Bottles has been a veritable ‘canary in the coalmine’ for new beers arriving in the state as well as returning releases. If you want to know if a beer you have your eye on is coming, look to 99 Bottles. November 29th as they did their first year in 2008 they welcome members of their “99 Bottles Club” for a party.

imagePlanning is underway for the 2nd annual
99 Bottles Club Member Event.

When? Sunday, November 29th
After-hours open house and tasting event at 99 Bottles; advance ticket required.

Beer! Snacks! Discounts!

Event and ticket info coming next week.
Not yet a club member? There's still time to complete your punch card.

Additional details will obviously be forthcoming as the date gets closer but if this is anything like their other events, it will be nothing short of spectacular.

Halloween means savings at the Issaquah Brewhouse

The poster sums up what you will find during Issaquah’s ‘Holiday’ Garage Sale.

Inspired by the holidays (Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, etc.), these “Garage Sales” are an excellent opportunity to pick up discounted merchandise. Some of the previous offerings included Rogue Santa’s Private Reserve Glassware, Craft Beer Books, and Issaquah ‘Frog’ T-Shirts. For more information about merchandise and hours call the brewery at (425) 557-1911.

Battleground, WA finally gets some ‘wood

image After many months filled with construction, interior decoration, ‘dry runs’, and finally the long wait for all the permits; Laurelwood Battleground is open for business. Announced on their website last Friday (October 23rd, 2009) the brewery & public house have already emptied their ceremonial first keg.

Partially inspired by co-owner Mike De Kalb, the decision was announced as far back as April 6th of this year (2009). The location was mostly picked in part because of the growing demand by Clark County residents that often made the thirty minutes trek from neighboring Vancouver to sip on a pint in Portland. imageAdditionally as further proof the address makes sense they pointed to the statistics that show Clark County to be one of the fastest growing areas in the region.

Look for drink specials, special releases, and dinners in the future, but for now I can only say welcome to Washington Laurelwood.
