Oktoberfest will soon be upon us (well technically the date of Oktoberfest since you have to travel to Germany for the real thing) and right now is a good time to get out for the Harvestal, a celebration of the hop harvest. See you there.

“… over the past two years at The Fiddler we have had a Rhizome party in the spring where we hand out rhizomes to our customers who want them with the understanding that any fruit they get they will bring back to The Fiddler and we will distribute to local breweries - grow local, brew local is our theme.  I have been growing hops for the last 5 years and sharing the organic crop with Big Time and Water Street.   They make sure to bring a keg of  "Gail Force" ale back to The Fiddler where we all celebrate the fresh taste.  It has really been fun and also exciting how our customers have embraced the idea.  We should really see a lot next year.  This year, I have also had two people call and offer their hops if we want to pick them. The community involvement is really good.

So - now is the time for harvesting and we thought it would be fun to include all three pubs in celebrating the hops and tasting some fine harvest and cask ales.”
