Port Townsend, WA - Water Street Brewing presents their first annual spring music & beer festival on April 24th and April 25th, 2009.
“… THE COCKAMAMY MUSIC FEST is fondly named for, and dedicated to, all the wonderful people who came forward to help save this beloved, quirky, local brewery in their hour of greatest need.
The Fest runs TWO days, beginning Friday, April 24th at 8pm opening with LO WIRE, a funky power duo featuring members of LUCIUS CLAY, followed by the locally famous world-class groove of the OLYMPIC SOUND COLLECTIVE from Seattle. Saturday the 25th hosts an exciting array of performers. The fun begins at 6pm with two bands that characterize the amazing musical talent to be found in Port Townsend. BURNIN MOUNTAIN will start the night out rocking to the favorites. Then THE BIG WHOOP will add their special brand of rappin', rockin', down-home funky, bluesy kind of roll.
A special treat is the SHANGHAID GYPSY CABARET who will be bumping and grinding at surprise intervals throughout the evening. This highly professional group can enthrall and titillate any audience!
Generating more excitement is the irresistible, foot-tapping rhythms of HILLSTOMP from Portland; we challenge you to try and remain in your seat once they hit the stage!
Bringing the festival home with a veritable explosion of sound is the incredibly high-energy Bellingham band, LUCKY BROWN and the FUNK REVOLUTION. Warning! It is recommended you wear your best dancing shoes. The dynamic 'Lucky' horns will keep you hopping for hours.
LUCKY BROWN, the brewery's cherished house band, wrote a song that reflects the tremendous gratitude the Water Street Brewing family feels towards this community and sums up the heart and purpose of the festival with their lyrics, "Thank you,
Thank you SO much!"
In fact, there will be two FREE BEER TOKENS waiting at the door for all the volunteers, donors, pledge-holders and auction shoppers that lent a hand in saving the brewery. Please join us, add your voice and celebrate our most grateful victory.
Cover charges for the festival are as follows: $5 on Friday and $10 on Saturday”
Sorry to "phone it in" on this one but I thought it best to get the word out first and do the bio later.
