Brewer's Dinner hosted by Silcox Hut at Timberline Lodge & Ski Area

Brewer's Dinner hosted by Silcox Hut at Timberline Lodge & Ski Area

In August 2012, pFriem Family Brewers opened its doors in Hood River, Oregon. Josh Pfriem had been on this career path his entire adult life — soaking up brewing knowledge, devouring literature, concocting experimental varietals in his shed, biking across Belgium, professionally brewing, and knocking on the doors and picking the brains of some of the greatest brewers in the world.

The Mt. Hood Brewing Co. opened in January 1991 in the alpine village of Government Camp, Oregon. Mt. Hood Brewing Co.‘s distinctive ales are produced by the union of pure glacial water from Mt. Hood, Pacific Northwest barley and hops, and the inspiration of Head Brewer Bryan Borgmeier.

Timberline Lodge Executive Chef Jason Stoller Smith honed his food and beverage pairing skills during the ten years he spent cooking in the Willamette Valley prior to his tenure at Timberline. The multi-course menu he’s created for this friendly collaboration highlights how a perfect pairing brings out the subtleties of craft ales and enhances the overall experience. Add the magnificent setting of Silcox Hut, and you’ve got an evening that plays to all five senses.

$155.00 per person includes dinner, beer, snowcat transportation to Silcox Hut, and gratuity. Seating is limited to 24 lucky participants.

And we'll be closing the evening with an exclusive nitro stout brewed especially for The Cottage!

Ticket price INCLUDES tax, tip, and fees.

-------------------------------------
STARTER
Mixed Greens Salad
Bit O'Beaver honey vinaigrette, citrus, aged manchego, and hand pulled croutons

Pairing: Bit O’Beaver – English Bitter
The beer that started everything. This is a session beer that you can enjoy several of without paying any consequences. Just the right amount of caramel sweetness and light bitterness to make this beer the definition of “drinkability.” Have you had your Beaver today?
IBU: 34
ABV: 3.4%
Malts: Maris Otter Pale Ale, Belgian Biscuit, Crystal
Hops: Fuggle, Willamette, Golding

---

APPETIZER
Matty's Mild Battered Fish & Chips

Pairing: Matty's Mild – English Dark Mild
When we let Matthew create his own Foggy Noggin beer, we didn’t know he would come up with the amazing Matty’s Mild. This might be the quintessential British session beer, like its name suggests, a Mild is known for its low level of hops character and low alcohol content. But this beer is packed with lots of toasty malty flavor that will make you come back for more. Cheers!
IBU: 28
ABV: 3.5%
Malts: Maris Otter, Brown, Chocolate
Hops: Fuggle, Golding

---

MAIN
Duck "à l’Orange"
Barrel Aged House Ale and orange reduction, duck breast, cauliflower puree, and sautéed bitter greens

Pairing: Barrel Aged House Ale
Perhaps the most unique ale on the market. Each 1/2BBL batch is fermented in Hungarian Oak barrels with a perpetual yeast, making each batch unlike any other.
IBU: 57
ABV: 6.3%
Malts: Maris Otter, Amber, Biscuit, Crystal 45
Hops: Brewers Gold, Fuggle, Golding

---

DESSERT
House-made stout ice cream with cocoa coffee cake

Pairing: The Cottage Nitro Chocolate Stout – Russian Imperial Stout
This rich malty stout is big in flavor and smooth and gentle on the palate. The roasty goodness is paired well with the Ecuadorian cocoa nibs that were added in secondary fermentation. Serving this brew on Nitro brings out a luxurious elegance that pairs well with an meal ending desert.
IBU: 62
ABV: 8.2%

Birthday Dinner at Brother Barrel

Birthday Dinner at Brother Barrel

There's probably no need to remind you but we have a feeling that Seattle Beer Week planning isn't on your priority list. And this is ok if you're the kind of person who prefers to live in the moment (or day) and plan accordingly. This works most of the time when one is pondering what beer festival, beer tasting, or brewery-sponsored event is on the itinerary. This, however, doesn't work when one considers there is only a handful of brewery dinners listed on the official Seattle Beer Week website. Instead of stressing dinners or Seattle Beer Week, the folks at Brother Barrel in Seattle's Lake City neighborhood invite you to put June 2nd on the calendar.

Starting at 5 pm and with your $75 admission, Brother Barrel celebrates their Anniversary with a 4-course dinner with beers from Elliott Bay Brewing Company's Dan Ashley and food from Elliott Bay Brewing's Brother Barrel kitchen. And the courses? Well take a look for yourself, courtesy the staff at Brother Barrel.

Starting with a brief cocktail reception, hosted by Brother Barrel's award-winning lead bartender, guests will be invited to pair sips from the bar with a light snack before the first course.

Moving onto the main menu, here's what the kitchen staff have to say about courses one thru four.

"Ivar's Northwest Winter Beer Tasting" at Ivar's Acres of Clams

Whether you live in or around Seattle or are simply visiting, there's nothing like an opportunity to feed the seagulls at Pier 54 and Ivar's Acres of Clams. Throughout the year's countless tons of french fries, malt vinegar-soaked fish, and an ocean of tartar sauce have been served at place Ivar Haglund built. Which is why the restaurant and its staff are happy to announce the return of the "Ivar’s Northwest Winter Beer Tasting at Acres of Clams".
