Press Release
Monday, April 30th 2018 (Seattle, WASH,)- Queen Anne Beerhall brings the traditional Bavarian celebration known as Mayfest (a lesser known counterpart to Oktoberfest!) to Seattle this spring. This year’s event will celebrate the end of winter and arrival of spring through beer, music, and activities. The festivities will take place on two Fridays and Saturdays (May 11th-12th and May 18th-19th).
Since opening in 2015, Queen Anne Beer Hall has worked to bring a selection of rare beers to thirsty Seattleites and this year’s Mayfest is no exception. Their special selections for the event include Hofbräu Maibock and Hacker-Pschorr Maibock. A spring release beer brewed in Bavaria, Maibock is a traditional beer used to celebrate the changing of the seasons. Beer connoisseurs will want to make sure to arrive early for the Hacker-Pschorr Maibock, as there are only 12 kegs of this rare beer in all of Washington State.
Guests can dance the night away to the live music from the band, The Bavarian Beer Garden, on May 12th from 6pm to 9pm and Colossal Boss on May 19th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Attendees can also complete in nightly stein holding competitions where they can compete for glory, gift cards, steins, and lots of fun prizes. If drinking beer rather than holding it is more your thing, take a seat, grab a cold beer and watch the tough ones battle it out.
Entrance is free and open to all ages before 10 PM, 21+ after 10 PM. Queen Anne Beerhall invites you to experience this lively celebration with them!
