Press Release
SEATTLE, Wash. – September 26, 2018 – Redhook and Seattle Made will host a Brewer’s Shoptalk discussing the future of beer in Seattle with some of the city’s best breweries: Georgetown Brewing, Stoup Brewing, Pike Brewing and Populuxe Brewing. The event will be held at Brewlab’s back bar in Capitol Hill on Thursday, October 11 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. Brewlab’s front bar will still be open to the public.
Kendall Jones, who has spearheaded Seattle Magazine’s beer awards issue for the past two years, and is the founder of Washington Beer Blog, will moderate a panel of brewers from the five prominent Seattle breweries. Head Brewer Nick Crandall will represent Redhook, where the event will be hosted. The storied brewery’s return to Seattle where Crandall and his team produce small batch brews, and its ongoing partnerships with other Washington breweries made it the ideal spot for the event. Georgetown’s Matt Edwards, Stoup’s Brad Benson, Pike’s John Hall, and Populuxe’s Peter Charbonnier round out the panel.
Topics for the evening will include sustainability practices, what’s made Seattle such a hot spot for brewers, and the future of the brewing industry in Seattle. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session and tickets include a pint from Redhook or one of the participating breweries.
Seattle Made is an organization that celebrates Seattle’s unique cultural identity by growing and supporting urban manufacturers and producers. Their goal is to expand opportunities for the city’s business community. All participants in Seattle Made’s Brewer’s Shoptalk are Seattle-based and topics include what makes the Emerald City such a brewing hot bed.

About Redhook Brewery
Redhook was born out of the entrepreneurial spirit of early 1980s in the heart of Seattle. While the term didn’t exist at the time, Redhook became one of America’s first craft breweries with a focus on creating a better beer. Redhook recently returned to its Seattle roots with Brewlab, its small batch innovation hub in the heart of Capitol Hill. At Brewlab, head brewer Nick Crandall has a knack for crafting inventive beers born out of innovation, creativity and experimentation. Redhook’s beer lineup includes ESB, Long Hammer IPA, Big Ballard Imperial IPA, Bicoastal IPA and a variety of seasonal and limited release beers, including My Oh My Caramel Macchiato Milk Stout, Tangelic Halo Tangerine IPA, Winterhook, and more. Redhook beers are available on draught and in bottles and cans around the country. Redhook Brewery, Est. Seattle, WA 1981.
